The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr. F.J. Gillen, rider of Annalough, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. F.J. Gillen was in breach of R.10.3(b)(out of contention) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays
P. Cleary, rider of Cola Blaze, trained by Nigel Thomas Slevin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. This was subsequently confirmed by the IHRB Veterinary Officer
J.G. Gilligan, rider of Leva Deva, trained by Darren Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very green
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident close to the line involving Lumiere Du Large (FR), ridden by Sam Ewing and Crystabel, ridden by J.J. Slevin, where it appeared the two horses came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
