last year, I left here deflated when getting out of jail with just one big-priced winner (250/1) and while loads ran ok, it is a funny game as the only currency is winners. At the back end of last year we didn’t have the string of horses we wanted and it was one-thing-after-another which was going wrong. We worked hard at getting quality young horses though and got back rolling in the spring, after going nine months without a win. A month ago, I said we had savage depth with some lovely handicappers, maiden horses and unraced ones and it was the best team we ever had. I dreamed of having six winners but would have settled for three, so this is phenomenal.

She came home a little sore from her run on quick ground in Kilbeggan during the summer, as she loves to get her toe in. It was a pity to run both horses against each other and we had planned in keeping them separately, but with so many meetings being called off it was a great result. We had a one-two previously in Ballinrobe and they are grand, solid, old mares who are healthy and well and will stay going as long as there is an ease in the ground. They'll either be put in foal this or next year. The winner is owed by Eddie Naughton who is a good supporter of ours and the mare is doing her job away at her level. Gary gave her a great spin.
