He is a nice horse. He was one of our better two-year-olds last year, got a few little hold ups. I was keen to run him this year early in the season on bad ground and he ran very well (second). I think it was a good race at the Curragh. This was a perfect race for him here today - a mile and a-quarter around Navan would suit him really well. Ben says when he hit the front, he's still learning a little bit, but he should come on a lot from today's experience and he's going to have to because we will probably step him up in class now. That uphill finish here and that's the first time he would have experienced that faster ground as well, so I think he will have learned a lot today.

Nothing kind of went right in the early part of the race. He's very raw and we haven't a lot done with him. Lovely eye-catching run in the Curragh, he stepped forward from it. We haven't really done much with him since the Curragh, to be honest. I'd say he has a lot of scope, he grew a lot in the last sort of month, and he is definitely going to make some helluva three-year-old. I think he is going to be a good horse. No, he's not in the sales. We sell the odd one privately. He's a real three-year-old type and is one we are looking forward to. He is by Ulysses and will get further. Fingers crossed, he might get into a nice horse next year.

He’s a tough, honest, little horse and he keeps improving. He keeps at it. I don’t know where we go now. He’s a horse that was for sale but nobody gave me enough for him, they were all laughing at me! He keeps doing it. We’ll probably step him up in trip a bit. He was on his head the whole time, the only time he was getting his own way was at the line. The New Bays are winning everything and we’re lucky to have him. I bought him over the road as a yearling. We’re looking at the race that Minella Study won in Wetherby at the end of October last year (Wensleydale Juvenile Hurdle). It’s a 40 grand Listed race and he’d have no penalty. I wouldn’t run him with a penalty as he’s handy. He’s probably a horse for any place in the world after doing that. I asked plenty for him after he won over hurdles and told lads that he would win in Galway and they looked at me. Seamie (Heffernan) was always mad about him last year. We’ve been lucky with the Flat horse, they’re all after clicking. We only ended up with them by accident, giving Seanie (Bowen) a dig out. He was going to come over today but he was suspended.

He's a beautiful big horse. He had good form last year and he developed well this year. It’s nice to get a win into him. Going up in trip, I think, suits him. Obviously he’s by Night Of Thunder, so I don’t know how far they stay in general, but he’s out of a Sea The Stars mares so there is plenty of stamina on that side. We’ll maybe look at the Derby Trial in Leopardstown, and then maybe the Irish Derby if that went well. That would be plan A anyway. . You can see the size of him, he was never going to be an Epsom horse. If he was that class, you could see him pitch up here, but we’ll see.

We thought from the first time we got her that she was good. She is a little bit fizzy, and I was a bit afraid first time out that she might boil up a bit, but she didn’t at all. She was very relaxed. I said to Kevin O’Ryan (agent) that I needed a good jockey, and he said Dylan would ride her, but he might have to put up a 1lb over. I said the horse would win and he did the weight. With those sort of fillies you nearly have to go for a stakes race. Dylan was very positive about her after the race and said she pricked her ears when she hit the front and didn’t really know what was going on.
