A look ahead to the Greatwood Waxies Dargle returns to action in the StanJames.com Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham on Sunday. The Noel Meade-trained six-year-old was last seen landing a competitive handicap at Killarney in May. Frank Berry, racing manager for owner JP McManus, said: " It's his first run back. He won't mind the ground if it gets a bit softer. "He's in good form, it's a very competitive race. You'd hope he'd run well." John Ferguson is happy to have two serious chances in Nabucco and Devilment. Nabucco arrives on a four-timer, having completed a hat-trick in a valuable handicap at Ascot, while Devilment returned to action with a pleasing success over Karezak at Cheltenham and was second in Grade One company last term. "I've been thrilled with both of them lately," said Ferguson. "Nabucco has been doing everything right and was very impressive last time out. "Devilment has been to Cheltenham once already this season and won a warm little race impressively. "They've both come out of their last races well and deserve to run. "It's a red-hot race - it should be because it's very valuable - but I'd rather have two cracks at it than one." Paul Nicholls is claiming off Old Guard, a Cheltenham winner at the Showcase meeting in October, with Harry Cobden taking 7lb off. Part-owner Andy Stewart said: "I think he'll run a big race. I know he's gone up 8lb for winning at the last meeting there, but he won in a common canter. "All Paul's horses are coming on for their first run and I don't think he'll be any different. He must go there with a big chance." Nicholls, who also saddles Bouvreuil, said: "That was his prep race the other day but he surprised us as he won really nicely. "He needs to improve again and he wouldn't want the ground too soft. "It was falsely-run the other day so a faster-run race should suit and he seems to have improved."
