Al Qahwa Wins On British Debut The ex-Michael Halford trained Al Qahwa landed the £25,000 Infinity Tyres Handicap at York this afternoon at odds of 25/1. The former Godolphin owned four-year-old won his maiden at Leopardstown as a two-year-old and was also Group 3 placed the same year behind Smash Williams in the Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh. On his first start for David O'Meara and having been recently gelded the son of Fast Company enjoyed the soft under-foot conditions to prevail by a neck from the joint-favourite Muntadab. The ex-Aidan O'Brien trained Sean O'Casey was another ex-Irish horse to make a winning British debut today when the well-supported four-year-old won for Michael Appleby at odds of 13/8 favourite (from 9/4) at Yarmouth. The gelding made most of the running and ran out a very easy 3 1/2 lengths winner in the hands of Silvester De Sousa.
