Ben Coen completes 120/1 treble at Roscommon Ben Coen completed a treble at Roscommon when guiding Ashikita to a comfortable success in the concluding mile and a-half maiden for four-year-olds and upwards. The Aga Khan-bred daughter of Camelot, owned by the Cara Mia Partnership, was picked up for just 3,000 euro after one unplaced run for Dermot Weld in 2024. Having missed all of last year, she was fifth on stable debut at the Curragh earlier this month. Sent off 15/8 favourite, she sat close to the pace and led two furlongs out before being ridden out to beat Catherine Magennis by two and a-half lengths. "It was the perfect race. She had a lovely run the first day,” said winning trainer Johnny Murtagh. “We did think, coming here today, that a mile and a-half around here with a little ease in the ground would suit her really well. “Ben said he kept it simple and she won well. She was still a bit green, so hopefully there is more to come. “She’ll probably be in a handicap next, today was important - to get that bracket beside her and everyone is happy.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
