Blackstair has American National option The American Grand National is a potential target for Willie Mullins' Japanese hero Blackstairmountain. The nine-year-old has not been seen in competitive action since picking up almost £500,000 in prize-money for winning the Nakayama Grand Jump in April of last year under Ruby Walsh. Owner Rich Ricci has revealed his charge is unlikely to defend his crown in the Far East, but could be sent on a trans-Atlantic mission later this year. "He's fine. He's back in training now. We'll probably miss the Japanese race this year, but he's one we could have some fun with travelling to different places," Ricci told At The Races. "Maybe the American Grand National could be fun, but he owes us nothing. He's been absolutely brilliant."
