The consistent Sea Of Rain (9/4f) made all over seven furlongs in Leopardstown to make the breakthrough in the juvenile fillies' maiden for Jim Bolger.

She kicked on for home inside the final two furlongs, but Citrus Springs and Miss Twilight were still within hailing distance.

The Naval Crown filly came under a drive from Declan McDonogh racing to the final furlong and increased her lead in the closing stages to put three and a half lengths on Citrus Springs (3/1). Newcomer Miss Twilight ran a cracker in third, just a neck off the runner-up at 16/1 having been available at 50/1 this morning.

Travelling Head Lad Ger Flynn said: "She really deserved that. She's been running into some good fillies. When you look at the time of the race the last day (third, Leopardstown), Noel Meade really liked his filly (runner-up Star Glory) and Joseph's filly (O'Brien, winner Ballyskeagh) is very good.

"She's been running into them the whole time and she's never really disappointed us apart from maybe her last start in Roscommon. That was probably her only below-average run.

"She's an Oaks filly for next year. She's a genuine honest filly, puts her head down, gallops and stays. She's lovely.

"We got beat by a pixel here one evening. It was the shortest of short heads. That's how unlucky she had been. The boss had a belief in her. We all had belief in her. She delivered today and showed us what she had been doing at home. She has an absolutely rock solid attitude.

"The further she goes, the better she gets. Obviously, she's progressing as the year goes on. It's onwards and upwards with her."

Sea Of Rain had been placed in three of her last four appearances.
