Booyea! Lee's winners keep on rolling Freshly-minted champion jockey Billy Lee completed a Dundalk double today, completed the feat on experienced six-year-old Booyea (7/1), who was a revelation on his all-weather debut in the BAR 1 Betting '2Up Early Payout' Handicap. Lee was crowned champion for the first time at the Curragh last Sunday and today steered Aviatrice to win the earlier Listed Cooley Stakes, before guiding Booyea to a neck success from Jolly Roger . Winning trainer Tom Gibney later revealed "Booyea had never been here in his life. He is a good ground-horse, so would normally be in the field by now but he has dropped down in the ratings and now there are races for him here, whereas in the past there weren’t. "He was in great form this season but had no luck. We went to Leopardstown in fantastic form for Champions Weekend but was drawn on the rail and broke really slowly. That happened twice this year. "It really suited tonight, there was a small field, he had it his own way and got into a nice rhythm. He loved the surface. "I'll chat to his owners (Ballinlough Syndicate) and see what they say. We'll have a look and see what’s there for him, but he was happy as Larry there and loved that. If he can keep doing that, we’ll keep coming back!" Quotes from Michael Graham
