Brewel Hill just held on to prevail in another thrilling finish at Gowran Park this afternoon, in the first division of the 47-65 nine-furlong handicap.

Shane Foley led early on the Gearoid Brouder-trained geldings before settling behind the leaders after a couple of furlongs.

The 11/2 shot came to lead again two furlongs from home but was all out close home to hold Lily Of The Glen by a head.

Brewel Hill was making his tenth career outing, having started off in bumpers, and had been unlucky on his latest outing at Fairyhouse when meeting traffic problems.

Foley said:- “I went forward and the pace had been holding up all day so I was keen to be handy.

“They took me on early and I had to give him a little chance but he kept finding and kept trying. He’s a grand horse and he stuck his neck out.”
