Cappa Hill followed up a win at Cork in August when taking the Jimmy Hayes Memorial Handicap Hurdle at Tipperary.

The Sean Allen-trained gelding soon recovered after a slight mistake two out to lead before the last and kept on well on the run-in under Jack Kennedy.

The 3/1 chance had a length and a half to spare at the line over the fast-finishing Littlefoot with the always prominent Half A Chance just a head further back in third.

Allen said, “He’s improving every day and hopefully there is another day in him.

“I’m thrilled with the way he jumped. He didn’t miss a beat bar the second last and I’d say it helped him because he would have been in front too soon.

“He’s only five so we’ll give him another bit of a break before he runs again. He likes a bit of nice ground.

“My brother Darragh owned a point-to-point winner today at Castletown Geoghegan as well, so it’s been a great day.

“We have six in training and hopefully they all have the potential to win races.”
