S.W. Flanagan, rider of Half A Chance, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he moved off the railing early on the first circuit as the horse in front of him was running too free and unintentionally touched the horse on his outside. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
