Leopardstown stages its final meeting of the National Hunt season on Sunday - but it will be the action after racing that will be of most interest to many.

The post-racing gallops at the Foxrock venue are a long-standing tradition and give trainers an opportunity to give their Cheltenham Festival hopes an away-day ahead of the showpiece fixture in less than a fortnight's time.

Missed That and Total Enjoyment both impressed work-watchers at this fixture before going on to win the Champion Bumper at Prestbury Park in 2004 and 2005, as did Sky's The Limit before his brilliant display under top weight in the 2006 Coral Cup.

With many of Ireland's leading National Hunt trainers set to send horses to Leopardstown, Festival clues could be on offer once again.

Leopardstown operations manager David Attwood said: "We have a couple of nice races and then the gallops afterwards, so it should be a good day.

"We've got some horses working after racing on Sunday and some might come on Monday morning as well. Joseph O'Brien is bringing a few, Jessica Harrington is bringing a few and Enda Bolger is bringing his cross-country horses, I believe.

"We're still waiting to hear from Gordon Elliott about what he'll bring and when and we haven't heard from Willie (Mullins) as yet.

"It's our last National Hunt meeting of the season and hopefully everyone will enjoy it."
