Chemdawg strikes at Kilbeggan again Chemdawg produced a fine front running performance to land the spoils in the Midland Breeders Mares Handicap Hurdle at Kilbeggan. Oliver McKiernan’s charge had been running consistently since winning here in April and went o post 5/1 favourite today. She bounced out in front, under Phillip Enright, and made every post a winning one. The Australia mare held the late charge of Larkins Lane to record a half-length success. "She's in good form. I still thought they went a fair gallop early on. To keep at it then was fair going,” said McKiernan. “I'd say the little bit of softness in the ground helps her now. She gets her toes into it. She had a few little short runs there lately and I'd say it was the ground that caught her a bit. “She likes this place too I think. Likes Kilbeggan, a bit like myself. “If the ground gets heavy she probably won't be doing any more. She's paying her way. If they were all doing what she's doing we'd be happy.
