Clarcam readily justified 1/3 favouritism in the two and a half mile hurdle race at Down Royal.

The six-year-old gelding put in an excellent display of jumping and assumed the lead when Yes Sir Brian unseated at the third last.

Gordon Elliott 's charge bounded away from the second last to sail home by 12 lengths. Run With The Wind (16/1) kept on for second for Stuart Crawford and Adrian Heskin.

Jack Kennedy, in the Gigginstown colours, said: "He jumped brilliant, he was the class horse in the race. Ground, trip, everything suited. I was very confident he was probably a likely winner bar an accident. He jumped and travelled brilliantly and quickened up and did it very well."
