Curragh and Punchestown heavy

The ground remains heavy at the Curragh ahead of this afternoon's card following 5.3mm of rain overnight.

There will be six metres of fresh ground in use on the straight course today and the forecast is for the weather to remain dry.

Admission is free for the replacement Flat fixture which kicks off at 1.45pm.

Punchestown is also heavy ahead of their two-day fixture which starts tomorrow but heavy rain is forecast for the area before racing takes place.

A possible 10-15mm is predicted for tonight while there are also to be showers tomorrow and Thursday, heavy at times, with a further 10mm possible.

Cork race on Saturday and Sunday and the ground there remains yielding on the national hunt track and soft on the Flat course.

The track had 4mm of rain overnight and more rain is forecast for tonight.

The ground at Naas is heavy, soft in places ahead of Sunday's card. There will be no stalls in use for the mile-and-a-half October Handicap.
