Destivelle delivers on second start for Murphy On her second start for Ciaran Murphy and wearing a first time visor, Destivelle easily accounted for 17-rivals in the Two-Mile Borris Handicap Hurdle. Previously in the care of Shane Ryder and a good third on her debut for Murphy over the course and distance a fortnight ago, the Vadamos six-year-old was sent off an 11/2 chance this afternoon, carrying the colours of Michael Byrnes. Given a patient ride by Simon Torrens and receiving a reminder from five out, she made good progress approaching the straight. Improving into second before the final flight, the 73-rated bay surged to the front shortly after that obstacle and readily increased her advantage, coming home six-lengths to the good. With Darragh O'Keeffe aboard, Getaway Henry (13/2) filled the runner-up spot, while The Border Boy (10/1) and Nazine (25/1) were third and fourth respectively. Finishing fifth and ninth, Inchiquin Maid and Midnight Eagle were the 7/2 joint-favourites. "Shane Ryder recommended us to the owners when he changed jobs, so I really appreciated that and he told us to come back here with her, as she likes this course," Murphy revealed. "She ran a cracker here the last day and we're thrilled to win today. "This is the first time these colours have been in the winner's enclosure, so they're getting a good kick out of it. It is very exciting for them. "It would be a no-brainer to come back here again unless the ground gets soft and she also has a very low Flat mark which we might use at some point." STEWARDS REPORT The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend into the straight involving Inchiquin Maid, ridden by J.P. Shinnick, placed fifth, Getaway Henry, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, placed second, Boston Bobby, ridden by T. Power Roche, brought down, and Bay Brook, ridden by Eoin G. Kelly, fell, where it appeared Bay Brook fell on the flat after getting tight for room and brought down Boston Bobby. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.P. Shinnick said he kept his line. D.J. O'Keeffe said he kept his racing line and didn't contribute to the incident. T. Power Roche said he was running his race when he got brought down by Bay Brook. Eoin G. Kelly said he was sitting one off the rail when he was pushed in on top of the horse in front by Inchiquin Maid. Having considered the all the evidence, the Racedays Stewards were satisfied that J.P. Shinnick was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his clean record, they suspended him for five racedays. Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
