Dysart Dynamo set the cat among the pigeons in Cheltenham antepost markets today, following a devastating display in winning Punchestown's opening Grade 2 Sky Bet Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle.

Willie Mullins' six year old son of Westerner was unbeaten in three starts arriving to the Kildare track and in the race, again raced with enthusiasm and made all for an eased down 19 lengths win over Challow Hurdle-third Gringo D'aubrelle

Dysart Dinamo was greeted by applause in the closing stages in a performance which matched efforts of Mullins' past top class winners of the race, Mikael D'Haguenet (2009), Vautour (2014), Douvan (2015) and Min (2016).

Mullins was absent, with bookmakers later cutting Dysart Dynamo to 7/2, from 12s, for the Supreme Novices Hurdle, while making him 4/1 for the longer 2m5f Ballymore Novices Hurdle.

The Champion Trainer also has Cheltenham Bumper winner Sir Gerhard entered for both races, although such was Dysart Dinamo's impressive two-miles display, Sir Gerhard was also cut to 5/1, from 10s, for the longer-distance festival race.

Following the race Mullins' assistant David Casey reported “he was very impressive and we see that at home with him. He has a huge engine and you would have to be delighted with him.

“I don’t know what the plan is but you would imagine he will go straight to Cheltenham now.

“Paul (Townend, winning jockey) said he did everything right for him and he had plenty left at the end.”

Champion Jockey Paul Townend was also impressed and added “we went a proper gallop and he jumped brilliant. He’s exciting and it was a very good performance.

“He’s a good one and nicer people (owner/breeder Eleanor Manning) couldn’t have a good one like him. They love their horses and have a proper one now.”
