Distillate registers a sixth career win Adrian McGuinness enhanced his fine record at Laytown, as his Distillate led home nine rivals in the O'Neills.com Handicap. Knocking on the door of late and registering a sixth career win this evening, the Havana Grey five-year-old was sent off a 6/1 chance for owners Mark Devlin, Nigel O'Hare and Philip Smith. Settled behind the leaders by Adam Caffrey, the 53-rated chestnut was ridden and gained a definite advantage with over a furlong to go, keeping on well in the closing stages to beat Punk Poet by a length-and-a-half. The runner-up was returned the 5/2 favourite under Ben Coen for Eddie Lynam, while Mullacash Buzz (6/1) was another two-lengths back in third. "We love it here and they boys love it," McGuinness, who was recording his 13th winner at the venue, enthused. "It wasn't a plan until we got her third last week as she wasn't going to get in. We were delighted after Bellewstown that she got third as she was guaranteed a run. "They (Mark Devlin, Nigel O'Hare and Philip Smith) are great supporters of mine. They love Dundalk and they love here. This means a lot to them to get a win down here - Mark loves this place and I'm delighted for him."
