Dove proves hardy in bumper

The best finish of the day was left to last as Lonesome Dove emerged on top from a three-way finish in the bumper at Cork.

Nina Carberry hit the front turning in on the mare but she was soon joined by Special Token .

Perfectly Composed joined the mix inside the final furlong but it was Charlie Swan's charge, who benefitted from a vintage Carberry drive to score by a head from Special Token.

"She's tough and probably wouldn't have liked it quite as heavy as that," said Swan

"She's a progressive filly and is improving and improving. She'll go jumping a hurdle now. She's more of a chaser in build as she's very very big."
