Blessed King brought up a double for Gordon Elliott, Jack Kennedy and owner Tom Doran when easing to a 16-length victory in the two mile seven maiden hurdle.

Kennedy guided him into the lead before the third last but the pair were soon joined by Benarty Hill

Blessed King held the advantage at the last and strode away up the hill for a decisive success. He was returned the 2/1 second favourite.

Benarty Hill kept on for second at 20/1 with Wee Small Hours another 14 lengths back in third.

Gordon Elliott said: "He was probably entitled to win it, he has been a little bit disappointing. Jack was very good again, he is riding out of his skin for a young lad of 17.

"We'll see, we might just keep it small for him."
