Gordon Elliott is in no rush to make plans for Don Cossack following his brilliant chasing debut at Galway on Monday.

The Gigginstown Stud-owned six-year-old has always been held in the highest regard by his Co Meath handler and looked a potential world-beater when winning three of his four bumper starts.

His novice hurdling career was not quite as smooth, but the giant gelding was always likely to fare better over the larger obstacles and he could not have been more impressive when slamming his opponents by 20 lengths at Ballybrit.

Elliott said: "He probably didn't beat a lot but it was a nice start.

"He obviously handles heavy ground well, so we'll see where we go from here.

"I haven't any plans in mind at the moment."

The trainer confirmed Grade One-winning novice chaser Mount Benbulben will line up in Saturday's JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal, but the participation of stable companion Roi Du Mee in the same race remains undecided.
