Faiyum made it two from two in the four-runner feature at Killarney this evening, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Race.

Successful on debut at Naas in March, the Ger Lyons-trained bay was widely expected to follow-up this evening and was returned the clear favourite at 30/100.

Racing in second under Colin Keane, the Juddmonte-owned victor was pushed along to close on the leader from the two-furlong pole.

Edging to the front inside the final 200 yards, she ultimately kept on well from there to beat the front-running De Novo (7/1 from 12s) by two-and-a-half lengths.

"We don't know what we learned as we came down to take baby steps. We will go home, take stock and talk to everybody and see where we go," assistant trainer Shane Lyons commented.

"Colin's first thoughts were that she was still very green and she will only improve from that.

"She is effective on slow ground, they have done a fantastic job here and the ground is still on the easy side of good. Her ultimate target is black-type and ground has to be right for her."
