Fleming Hoping His Stars Bounce Back Trainer Alan Fleming is hoping both Gwencily Berbas and Tully East can rediscover their best form after disappointing efforts over the Festive period. Gwencily Berbas was a Grade Three winner and placed at Grade One level over hurdles. The six-year-old performed creditably on his first two starts over fences, but the application of a visor failed to have the desired effect as he finished well-beaten on his latest appearance at Leopardstown. Fleming said: "He pulled a muscle in his back the last day, but seems to have come out of it OK. "We'll see how he is in the next week to 10 days and make a plan from there." Tully East, who was not beaten far into fourth place in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Hurdle at last season's Cheltenham Festival, made a smart start to his career over fences at Thurles at the start of December, but finished down the field behind Min when stepped up to Grade One level in the Racing Post Novice Chase. "He was disappointing at Christmas," said the trainer. "We might run him at Navan in a couple of weeks' time and see how he gets on there. "If he goes to Cheltenham the novice handicap chase on the first day would look the race for him."
