David Simcock is aiming Teppal for the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot after the filly gave him a first Classic triumph in the French 1000 Guineas.

While the victory may have been unexpected in some quarters, it did not come as a shock to the Newmarket handler, who reports the daughter of Camacho to have taken the trip to ParisLongchamp in her stride.

“She will go to the Coronation Stakes now and we are happy with her,” said Simcock.

“She has come out of the race very good. It was a good day for us in France and they don’t get much better. It was just a very special day.

“If you are putting one in a race like that (French Guineas) it’s not a total surprise.

“It was a big ask on her third start and first in stakes company, but if you are entering there and running you’ve obviously got some sort of ammunition, in my opinion.”
