Gaoth Chuil wins again in Leopardstown Gaoth Chuil wore down Eagle Fang close home to get the win in the 1m7f qualified riders' maiden at Leopardstown. Eagle Fang led into the straight and was still boxing on with a furlong to negotiate. Gaoth Chuil was trying hard for Lee Shanahan, though, and late on her effort was rewarded as she got to grips with Eagle Fang to prevail by half a length at 7/1. Eagle Fang had to settle for second at 7/2 while The Banger Doyle finished well in third at 14/1. This was Gaoth Chuil's fifth career success, with three coming in Leopardstown. Ted Walsh said: "Her runs were good enough to suggest be there or thereabouts. "This time last year, she was fourth in it behind two good horses, Royal Hollow and McManus's good horse (A Dream To Share). Could have been second. She might win a two-mile handicap on the Flat. "She's just not mad about fences. There is a difference between jumping and attacking. She doesn't just attack a fence - she jumps it, but she doesn't attack it. You need to do that especially in the summertime." Additional reporting by John O'Riordan
