Barry Geraghty believes Sprinter Sacre will strip a good deal fitter at Cheltenham than he was for his comeback at Ascot.

Nicky Henderson is trying to nurse the nine-year-old back to something like the form which saw him win the 2013 Queen Mother Champion Chase by 19 lengths.

Despite losing his aura of invincibility, Geraghty feels the engine is still intact.

"He schooled really well Friday morning, he felt great and looks a picture," the jockey told At The Races.

"He didn't look as well at Ascot as he does now. That was his first competitive race for 20 months so he was entitled to get a bit tired, and his jumping was a little bit rusty.

"He pinged the fourth-last and the third-last and I thought I was the winner, but as soon as we turned into the straight and Dodging Bullets was coming around me, I knew I was beaten and had no more left in the tank.

"He pinged the second-last and kept himself competitive, but he was running on empty.

"I'd say he'll be a good bit better than he was at Ascot."
