Gevrey held the late charge of Kings Keeper to land the odds in the first division of the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle at Limerick.

The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding went to post a 10/11 shot having been runner-up on his previous two outings over timber and he was prominent throughout.

Conor Orr let his mount jump to the front four from home and he asked him to kick on after the second last.

The French-bred was pressed by newcomer Kings Keeper on the run-in but had enough up his sleeve to record a half length success.

Orr said afterwards:- "He was a little slow at the last but was in front plenty long enough. His experience helped as well and is a nice horse and stepping up in trip will be no harm either."
