Going update

The going looks sure to be on the easy side on a busy weekend for Irish racing with Cork hosting a two-day meeting, while Downpatrick (Saturday) and Naas (Sunday) are also in action.

The going is currently good to yielding on the round course, and yielding (good to yielding in places) on the sprint track for a seven race Flat meeting at Cork tomorrow with the first due off at 2.35.

The stalls will be situated on the stands' side for the sprint races.

The focus switches to the jumpers at Cork on Sunday, with the ground on the National Hunt track described as good. A seven race card begins at 2.20pm.

Downpatrick is yielding (yielding to soft in places) for their seven race National Hunt card which gets underway at 2.20 tomorrow afternoon.

The Derrinstown Stud EBF Birdcatcher Premier Nursery is the highlight at Naas on Sunday, and the €65,000 event is the feature race of the weekend.

An eight race mixed card at the Co.Kildare venue kicks off at 2.10, and the going is currently yielding on the Flat course and good to yielding (NH).

Racing also takes place on the all-weather at Dundalk this evening, with an eight race card (including a number of 25 minute intervals between races) starting at 6.15pm.

Today is to be mainly dry with widespread rain moving in overnight and into tomorrow. Sunday is predicted to be showery.
