Ground conditions were tough at both Fairyhouse and Cork yesterday and the action continues at both venues this afternoon.

The Flat horses raced on a testing surface at Cork yesterday but, remarkably, there has been selective watering ahead of today's eight-race jumps card which starts at 1.15pm.

Following 6mm of rain since yesterday, the ground is now yielding, good to yielding in places with a mainly dry forecast.

From a total of 114 runners on the first day of the Easter festival at Fairyhouse, 31 horses were pulled up on what must have been gluey, holding ground.

Following 5mm of rain since racing yesterday, the ground is now soft, yielding to soft in places.

It's set to be mainly dry today and tomorrow and fresh ground is available on both tracks.

There are four Graded contests on today's eight-race card which gets under way at 1.30pm.
