Backstage landed the featured Newwave Recruitment Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Perth on Sunday for trainer Gordon Elliot.

The winner was punted throughout the day and was eventually sent off the 3/1 Favourite, before coming home 11 lengths clear of the Michael Hourigan trained Some Craic.

Elliot said afterwards: "Because he loves this ground we might keep him going for a bit and the Galway Plate could be a possibility."
