Ground eases at Galway

The ground has eased ahead of the opening day of the Galway festival at Ballybrit this evening.

There was 6mm of rain overnight at the venue and the national hunt track is now Yielding while the Flat course is Soft.

Forecasters are predicting a risk of showers today (approx 2mm) becoming more isolated overnight and tomorrow.

The first goes to post at 5.20pm while the featured Connacht Hotel (QR) Handicap is off at 7.40pm.
