Henderson big guns for Wetherby Saturday Nicky Henderson plans to run both Barbers Shop and Duc De Regniere at Wetherby on Saturday. The pair top the weights for the United House Gold Cup at Ascot on the same day, but are heading up the A1 to Yorkshire instead. "The plan at the moment is that both will go to Wetherby, Duc De Regniere in the John Smith's Hurdle and Barbers Shop the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase," Henderson told At The Races. "They both have top weight at Ascot which makes it difficult but I think Duc De Regniere appreciates a run over hurdles and the race ought to sut him before he goes chasing again." Henderson hopes Barbers Shop can resume winning ways in the feature race but admits it looks a warm renewal. "You never know what's going to turn up but it looks open. Poor old Barbers Shop has been set an impossible task in life as you come in off top weight in handicaps. He hasn't won a race for two years and has run some fantastic races in defeat," he said. "Rating-wise he comes into Saturday's race quite well."
