There is plenty of good racing from the Curragh on Saturday with three Group 3 events on the card as well as the Irish Cambridgeshire.

The mile contest has attracted a field of 15 runners set to battle for the €60,000 top prize and we've got a runner-by-runner look at the field for the Paddy Power Supporting Cancer Trials Ireland Irish Cambridgeshire, due off at 16:37 on Saturday at the Curragh.

  • Big Gossey

One of the veterans in the field, this will be the 80th start of his career. Eight of his 10 career wins have come at the Curragh, though never beyond 7f. He won the Listed 7f Gladness Stakes here in March and has largely been kept to sprinting since.

    Godwinson

The gelded son of Saxon Warrior is trained by William Haggas and will have the services of Ryan Moor here. He won the Lincoln at Doncaster over this trip in March and has only had two outings since, perhaps unsuited by how the race played out at Glorious Goodwood last time.

    Coeur D'or

Three wins in 2023, culminating in this race off a mark of 97. He's 0-10 since but has twice gone well over C&D this summer and is now back on that winning mark as connections reach for a first-time visor.

    Blues Emperor

C&D winner in 2023 and second in this the following year. Ran down the field last year, however, and while he won at Fairyhouse last month, he toiled at Galway from a 1lb higher mark than this.

    Howyoulikethat

Has run some pleasing races over C&D in big-field handicaps in the past, but his three runs this summer back from more than a year on the sidelines have not hinted he's about to snare a prize.

    Tokenomics

Doesn't have many miles on the clock and returned from a break to win at Cork over 7f in May. Down the field in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot in his only run since but he was a 7f winner on his only start here a year ago.

    Bear Profit

This gelding is proving most consistent this year and has followed June's Leopardstown win over nine furlongs with solid placed efforts here (1m2f), back at Leopardstown and at the Galway Races. Career-high mark to defy here.

    State Actor

Form that ties in closely with Bear Profit after good runs at this venue over C&D and at Leopardstown over nine-furlongs recently. Son of Ravens Pass is a winner of a similar contest over track and trip.

    Independent Expert

One of two fillies' taking on the boys. Five-time turf winner and placed another 10 times in 38 starts. She was third in this contest a year ago off a mark of 84 for Andy Slattery but her overall profile doesn't suggest she will do better this yard from a higher mark with cheekpieces applied.

Another with C&D-winning form in this type of race from 2024. Disappointed in that same contest in June, but runner-up at Leopardstown (1m1f) last month on most recent start and closely matched with some of these on that evidence.

    Genuine Article

Ex-Dermot Weld inmate, produced what likely amounted to a career-best when scoring at Galway last month over the extended mile in good fashion, beating 17 rivals on soft ground. Now 10lb higher in a better race.

    I Am Superman

One of two nine-year-olds in the line-up, his strike-rate is relatively poor (5-38), but he has been very consistent in recent months, including over C&D in a similar race when close fourth in June. Only rated 1lb higher now.

    Pink Oxalis

Caravaggio filly scored over C&D last month in a lesser race and ran well since at Galway having gone up 9lb. She goes from the same mark now.

    Jagged Edge

The only three-year-old in the mix. Gelded son of Blue Point won a Cork maiden in April over this trip on soft ground on second start, but faded to be last of 11 here over 7f on handicap debut in May and off since.

    Engines On

Sioux Nation gelding, won at Naas (7f, yielding) last month after moving to this stable, but beaten favourite next time at Roscommon from 7lb higher and is 6lb out of the handicap now in a pair of first-time cheekpieces.
