Irish raiders to the fore at Sedgefield Irish raiders took five of the seven races at Sedgefield this afternoon, with Gordon Elliott completing a four-timer at the Durham venue. Richard Johnson was aboard three of Elliott's four, with Make My Heart Fly the first of these in the Sedgefield Racecourse Food Festival In November Mares' Novices' Hurdle. Successful on her last two starts at Perth, the daughter of Stowaway hit the front on the approach to the last, and soon went clear, going on to prevail by seven lengths at the odds of 2/1. Their next winner came in the Christmas Parties At Sedgefield Racecourse Handicap Hurdle, with High Expectations taking this extended two mile contest. Returned the 5/4 favourite, the Martin Wasylocha owned gelding needed to be driven out on the run-in, getting up close home to prevail by half a length. Johnson completed his treble on King's Song (7/2jfav) in the DDC Event Catering Handicap Hurdle, with this one coming home three and a half lengths to the good. Dinions rounded off a perfect afternoon for Elliott, as he easily justified 1/12 favouritism in the Injured Jockeys Raceday Conditional Jockeys' Novices' Hurdle. Successful at Killarney and Roscommon last month, the Tim O'Driscoll owned gelding hit the front as they bypassed three out, and he kept on well from there to oblige by twenty-three lengths under James Bowen. Elsewhere on the card, Da Baba Elephant also completed a hat-trick in the Greig Cavey Commercial Peter Cavey Memorial Handicap Chase. Trained in Co Armagh by Ronan McNally, and sent off the 11/8 favourite, the nine-year-old gelding made all under Brian Hughes, coming home three and a half lengths to the good.
