James Bowe dies following illness James Bowe, the trainer of Limestone Lad, has died following a long illness. Bowe who transferred his licence to his son Michael over a year ago will be fondly remembered by all racing fans. Limestone Lad won 35 races when under his care and the likes of Solerina and Sweet Kiln also achieved numerous successes. The battling qualities of the horses produced from his Gathabawn, Co. Kilkenny base are legendary and as recently as Easter Monday his son Michael trained Coolcashin to win a Grade 3 event at Fairyhouse.
