Leave In Secret stayed on to lead after two out in the Anglo Printers Handicap Hurdle at Galway and kept on well for JJ Slevin to deliver by seven lengths at 6/1. Kotkito Bello was on good terms with himself at the head of affairs and looked to be travelling best before two out. It was a different story upon touching down, though, as he soon came off the bridle and was passed by Leave In Secret who was really grinding it out.

He increased the margin in jumping the last and won decisively from runner-up Hudson (9/1) and third-placed Bossing It (13/2).

Tom Gibney said: “That was lovely. We had actually planned to go chasing with him. We were looking for one of those 110 or less beginners but there were none coming up for a while.

“He was in good form, I love running horses when they are in good form, and I said to the lads we’d go and try and win another hurdle in the meantime.

“Hopefully, it won’t put him out of them (beginners' chases) but we’re delighted.

“He gets two-and-a-half (miles), but a good strong pace at two (miles) definitely suits well as well.

“He was dropping back in class as well which made a big difference. I thought the Bellewstown race the last day was probably a bit too much anyway, a bit above him.

“He wants good ground and I was happy the rain didn’t come that they were giving originally.

“As long as he stays in good form, and the ground is reasonable, we’ll keep running.”
