In a race of ever-changing fortunes, Let's Go La Fichad just got up to take the RSS Record Storage Service Maiden Hurdle in Sligo.

Ross O'Sullivan 's charge was noted being backed from 25/1 to 9/1 before racing, but was returned at 16/1 at the track. Lilac Lady took over two out, however, strong-travelling Koliath De Couely and Hopeful Hero soon swamped her rounding the home bend.

The front pair were locked together over the last as Let's Go La Fichad jumped it in fourth behind Lilac Lady.

Koliath De Couely went for home in the closing stages, but Let's Go La Fichad soon stayed on well in second and got up in the final stride to strike by a head at 16/1 from the 13/8 favourite.

Jockey Rickey Doyle said: "One of his owners, John Rowney (Tinnahinch Construction Limited) told me that he hasn't been the easiest to deal with and it took a long time to get him right. He wears the hood for a reason.

"He settled lovely for the first mile and came on it as we started to quicken. I thought I had a chance two out, but one of Willie Mullins was ahead of me and usually they find a length or two, but, in fairness to my lad, he battled well to the line.

"He's a handicapper in the making, I suppose, so we'll see what kind of mark he gets."
