Lieutenant in line to make chasing debut

Cheltenham Festival winner First Lieutenant is among twelve horses declared for the Grade 3, Like A Butterfly Novice Chase at Tipperary on Sunday.

The son of Presenting had been billed as a chaser in the making last season but still managed to win two Grade 1 Novice Hurdles at Cheltenham and Leopardstown respectively.

Having won on his sole start between the flags at Kilfeacle in January of 2010 the Mouse Morris trained gelding will be expected to score on his first start over fences on the racecourse.

If he does line up he certainly won't have an easy time of it, as recent Listowel winner Slieveardagh and the Niall Madden trained Ainama are also among the entries.

Decent novice hurdlers Far Away So Close, Byerley Bear and Rathlin (now with Mouse Morris, having moved from the Philip Rothwell yard) could also line up.
