A nursery and Polytrack debut did the trick for Natalia Lupini's Whistling Jamesie (20/1) at Dundalk.

Wayne Lordan (posting a double on the card) got him away well from stall 17 and soon had his mount in touch in this six-furlong nursery.

An absolute wall of horses held chances charging to the final furlong, but it was Whistling Jamesie who finished off best of all down the outer to claim the honours by half a length.

Another outsider, One Cool Bear at 25/1, took the runner-up berth and was the same distance ahead of Royal County Glory at 22/1.

Assistant trainer Craig Bryson said: "We think Polytrack (worked the oracle) - we had worked him here a few times because we are close by and he always worked nicely around here.

"His early runs we were disappointed, we always thought we were just teaching him. He came out of the breeze ups and getting him to do things right.

"Progressing with racing and we think he handles the Polytrack very well.

"We thought seven (furlongs) would have been better, but he got away with the six (furlongs) here today. He's a big, long-moving horse and we were worried today, wide draw, and he (Lordan) did well to break and get over. The last half furlong he stuck at it very well.

"We'll speak to the owners and see what they want (potential campaign in Dundalk), but we probably will run him a few times up here. He is only a two-year-old and at some stage he will want a little break. He seems in good form at the minute, so we might as well kick on with him."

Whistling Jamesie had been unplaced in three turf maidens.

Lordan landed the preceding race on the card through Valiant Force for Adrian Murray.
