Lordan to ride British raider in French Derby Wayne Lordan will replace the suspended Darryll Holland on Zafisio in the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly on Sunday. Trainer Roger Curtis has snapped him up for the French Derby as Holland's 21-day ban does not end until June 12. Holland had steered the Efisio colt into second place behind Irian in the German 2,000 Guineas last month. "We've got Wayne to ride him as Darryll is banned and the horse is very well, spot on," said the Lambourn handler. "The plan has always been the French Derby but ground would be the worry. At the moment they are saying it's good, good to soft in places but they are expecting it to go to good to firm. If it does he'd be up against it. As it stands at the moment we are still going to run. He's come out of the German Guineas in smashing form and I think the trip will suit him."
