Los Toldos another winner for in-form Shark Hanlon Following a double at Down Royal earlier in the week, trainer Shark Hanlon continued his fine recent run when sending out Los Toldos to win the opening PADDY MAC Maiden Hurdle at Cork. Fifth at this track on his stable debut in March, the former Godolphin owned four-year-old was tailed off back on the Flat last time. Clearly a different horse when faced with a set of hurdles, the son of Frankel was always to the fore here under Sean Flanagan. Heading leader Killeaney Bear over the penultimate flight, the 12/1 chance stayed on strongly to beat that latter named rival by one-and-three-quarter lengths. Shark Hanlon said: "Paddy (son, jockey) had to go to England to ride Shotgun Simmy where he also ran a cracker, all my horses are in good form and that's our third winner this week. "I was nearly not running this horse as that's as quick as he wants the ground. "He is 17 hands and when I ran him on the Flat recently, Paddy (son) said he is such a big horse that he could feel his heart and that his head and backside was hitting the stalls. As a result, he jumped out slowly so had to tour around. He is a chaser down the road. "I bought him in England and a big thanks to the three lads from Galway who bought him: when I got into trouble (with a suspension), they thought I had been harshly treated, so asked me to buy them a horse. "I'm sure this horse will have to go to Galway now." Regarding a newly installed gallop, he added "when I was on holidays we installed a new four and-a-half furlongs gallop up a little hill. "I don't have to work the horses as hard and instead of working them two days a week, can do so three times but by doing easier bits. It is working." Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes.
