Manning Delighted with Guineas Efforts Kevin Manning has expressed his delight at the performances of both Gan Amhras and Cuis Ghaire in their respective Guineas last weekend. Both of the Jim Bolger-trained three-year-olds finished in the money at Newmarket, with Gan Amhras claiming third behind Sea The Stars in the 2000 Guineas and Cuis Ghaire chasing home Ghanaati in the 1000. The pair were having their first starts of the season and Manning thinks there is plenty to look forward to later in the campaign. "I was very pleased with both of them," said Manning. "I thought Gan Amhras ran a very good race. When he steps up to a mile and a half he'll come into his own, I don't think we'll see him at his best until he goes over a trip. "He was always just on his head a little bit throughout the race and I think he ran a bit green in the race. "I think there is a lot of improvement in him and when you add that to the step up in trip, I think we've got a really nice horse. "Cuis Ghaire is a filly we didn't really get to take away with the ground being so soft. "Again I think she'll improve for the run and there is a good bit more to come from her. "She's handled decent ground very well. She's very light on her feet and she's got plenty of pace and I think she'll be going for the Irish Guineas," he told At The Races.
