Maybe aims to show class in Debutante

Aidan O'Brien's Maybe puts her unbeaten record on the line in what looks a strong renewal of the Keeneland Debutante Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

The daughter of Galileo confirmed the promise of her debut win with a brilliant display against the boys in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot.

She was not quite so impressive when opening her Pattern-race account at Leopardstown recently, but the trainer's son Joseph O'Brien is looking forward to the ride.

"I won on her at Leopardstown the last day and hopefully she'll run another big race," said O'Brien jnr.

"She was impressive in Royal Ascot and is still unbeaten. Hopefully she'll go very well again."

The Ballydoyle team are also represented in the race by likely outsider Chieftess and recent Galway winner Soon.

Seamie Heffernan gets the leg up on the latter and said: "I've ridden her on both her starts and she's a nice filly.

"She ran a nice race to finish fourth at the Curragh on her debut and she did things right at Galway the other day.

"She seems to have come out of it well and we're hoping that she improves a little bit and runs very well. Obviously Maybe has a lot of class."
