McDonogh attacks and Gegen counters Sligo rivals yet again Gegenpressing (4/1) remains unbeaten in four visits to Sligo after landing the Tote Never Beaten By SP Handicap for the third year in a row. Declan McDonogh's mount soon raced behind the leaders in the extended six-furlong contest and the former champion jockey sent him on entering the straight. Happy Henry gave chase inside the final furlong but, in truth, the winner never looked in danger and posted a half-length victory. The eight year-old is trained by Eddie and Patrick Harty and the latter said "Declan said he broke well and got a nice position, and the horse came alive at halfway. He loves the hustle and bustle around here and the early fight to get a position. Any bit of adversity, he thrives on it. "It's our first winner since Grandad (Eddie Harty senior) died and Dad now has his colours. Declan got a good kick out of that, because his mother Helen was very close to Grandad. They were both very strong people and were ground-breaking. "There's another six-furlong handicap here at the August meeting, but it's three-year-olds only, so I'll have to get on to HRI to change the conditions!"
