Her brother Mala Beach may have come up short in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown on Monday but he's still a horse to have on your side, and Bonny Kate two years his junior, made it third time lucky in the concluding Goffs Punchestown Invitational Sale Mares (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.

Continuing the good work for the Noel Meade yard, this even money favourite made all in the hands of Nina Carberry and she asserted into the straight.

Though her advantage was reduced a furlong out, Bonny Kate never really looked like being reeled in and she went on to triumph by a length and three parts from promising first-timer, Ten Times Better (like the winner a daughter of the late-lamented Beneficial).

"Nina is worth her weight in gold. This filly is a full-sister to Mala Beach and stays very well.

"She'll go over jumps now," stated Meade. (AM & EM)
