Meehan reflects on Curragh performances Brian Meehan has not ruled out a crack at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with his Irish St Leger runner-up Agent Murphy. The four-year-old continued his improvement this season when beating all bar Aidan O'Brien's Order Of St George at the Curragh. While he was no match for the 11-length winner, he was conceding 11lb to his three-year-old rival. Agent Murphy holds an entry in the Long Distance Cup on Champions Day, but Meehan still has a trip to France on his mind. "He ran a smashing race, I was very pleased with him," said the Manton handler. "I don't know if he'll go to Ascot as he's still in the Arc and I haven't ruled that out yet. "Someone has to finish second to Treve!" Meehan was also represented on Irish Champions Weekend by his smart filly Blue Bayou in the Moyglare Stud Stakes. She finished fifth, just behind Dermot Weld's highly-regarded Tanaza but no match for three O'Brien fillies, headed by Minding. "She ran OK, I think Aidan has three very smart fillies there," said Meehan. "She'll go for the Rockfel next (Newmarket, September 25)."
