Meld option for Prince Of All Paul Deegan believes the future is bright for Prince Of All following his creditable effort behind Kingman at Royal Ascot last month. A dual winner on the all-weather at Dundalk earlier in the year, the Iffraaj colt was pitched in at Group One level at the Royal meeting. He was far from disgraced, beaten just six lengths by the brilliant winner, and Deegan believes his charge might have finished even closer had things panned out differently. The trainer said: "He was in at the deep end, but it was probably a career-best run. It was a steadily-run race, they went slow and then sprinted, so I think he is probably better than the bare form suggests. "We might step him up in trip now as over a mile he needs a true-run race. There's a chance he could be supplemented for the Meld Stakes at the Curragh in a couple of weeks' time, which is a mile and a quarter. "We think he's a very good horse and hopefully he has a big future." Deegan also had news of dual Group Three winner Sruthan, who has not been seen in competitive action since finishing well beaten in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in the middle of May. "He came back from the Lockinge quite sore so we gave him an easy time after that," said the handler. "We weren't too worried about the ground going to Newbury, but he didn't handle it at all. It was much too quick for him and I think we'll be regarding him as a spring and autumn horse from now on. "He'll probably be aimed at the race on Irish champions weekend (Solonaway Stakes, September 13) and we'll work back from there. "The ground is too quick for him at the moment, so we'll sit tight, wait until the rain comes and see where we go. We still have plenty of faith in him."
