Midday to start off at York Midday is set to return to action in the Group Two totesport.com Middleton Stakes at York's Dante meeting. The five-year-old confirmed herself one of the best fillies in training during a brilliant 2010 campaign, which saw her rattle off three Group One victories in the space of six weeks last summer. Her bid to then land successive Breeders' Cup crowns only just came up short when she went down by a neck to Shared Account at Churchill Downs last November. But news filtered through before Christmas that the Henry Cecil-trained daughter of Oasis Dream was once more to remain in training and try to add to her current tally of seven victories, which have helped to amass nearly £1.4million in prize money. Lord Grimthorpe, racing manager to her owner Prince Khalid Abdulla, said: "It was quite a hard winter in Newmarket - especially in the early part - and Midday took a little bit more time than some just to come around. "But in the last three or four weeks she has really begun to bloom. The Middleton Stakes is very much on her radar as the likely starting point of her campaign." The Abdulla-Cecil combination are also represented in the 22-strong entry by Listed race winners Timepiece and Principal Role, both of whom are set to race on at four. Cecil's fourth entry is Vita Nova - also aged four - who was successful in both of her starts in 2010. There are some really classy fillies and mares among the potential opposition to Cecil's quartet - not least Group One winner Music Show, trained by Mick Channon. Crystal Cappella, now six, won this race in 2009 by a short head from Dar Re Mi and she could bid for a second totesport.com Middleton Stakes victory after being given the entry by trainer Sir Michael Stoute, who is also represented by Eleanora Duse and Nouriya.
