Moore takes Cambridgeshire ride on Abseil Ryan Moore will ride Abseil for Sir Michael Stoute in Saturday's Betfred Cambridgeshire at Newmarket. The three-times champion jockey returns to the saddle on Thursday for the first time since suffering a neck injury at the July meeting and he will be aiming to win the first leg of the autumn double for the first time. Stoute's five-year-old was a beaten favourite at the Derby meeting last time out. Marcus Tregoning's Bronze Angel is bidding for an unprecedented third win in the race having triumphed in 2012 and last year. Seven other horses have won the race twice, the most recent before him being Rambo's Hall in 1989 and 1992, but none have claimed it three times. Educate, the winner in 2013, runs again while John Smith's Cup winner Master Carpenter carries top weight for Rod Millman with Jordan Vaughan claiming a valuable 5lb. Frankie Dettori rides Gm Hopkins for John Gosden, winner of the SIlver Cambridgeshire last season, with Earth Drummer looking the pick of David O'Meara's team as he will be ridden by Danny Tudhope. O'Meara also runs Birdman, a prolific winner earlier in the season. Irish interests are represented by the well-fancied Portage from Mick Halford's yard and the Ger Lyons-trained Brendan Brackan. Energia Davos, Early Morning, Halation and My Dream Boat are others of note in a maximum field of 35.
